Thunder of Clouds: What Women Can Do

Feature Documentary, In Production

“The Taliban is always thinking about what women shouldn’t do. They should be thinking what women can do.” — Wazhma Sadaat

The TELUS original documentary Thunder of Clouds: What Women Can Do is an urgent and inspiring film that follows the courageous journey of Afghan women activists and refugees as they rebuild their lives in Canada. While facing their own trauma, displacement, and the challenges of starting over in a new country, these women rise above their personal struggles and work tirelessly to support the hundreds of Afghan women arriving every day while also building a one-of-a-kind immersive media and social impact exhibit entitled Thunder of Clouds. Through this powerful experience, they confront indifference and bridge the emotional and cultural distance between Afghanistan and the world. In the face of ongoing gender apartheid, these women refuse to be silent.
